UKLP - admin help needed.

Postby Teflon » Sat Oct 01, 2016 1:07 pm

Hello all

This forum has been quiet of late, and I am sorry that this has been the case. I do my best to try and welcme new members and post when I can, which is not always as frequently as I would like. But Like many of you, I am struggling to get support for myself at the moment, as I am going in hospital for vulval surgery next week, something I am absolutely dreading, and, which I have been warned is going to leave me in a lot of pain and discomfort for a while.

As you may (or may not !) know I am only the treasurer of this group, and when the original chairman resigned a few years ago, shortly after the secretary, nobody came forrward to offer to take on either of the roles, which left me trying to cope with just about everything except for the two guys who keep the IT going. We are struggling to do much more, and whilst I would dearly love to help set up another conference, ( we have held 2 in the past) and help organise local groups, I cannot do this alone.

I also now get a lot of correspondence from other groups and organsiations and would welcome some help with dealing with this. i am afraid much of it gets left which is a shame. We do get invites to attend various events, but most of them are impracticable for me to even consider attending , due to where I live.

So, if you , or indeed any other people reading this post can offer to help with some of the admin - or would like to be chair person it would be greatly appreciated! I have considered setting up a facebook group but I am concerend about the confidentaility aspect, bearing in mind the nature of our condition.

Or if you have some ideas as to how we could kick start the forum into more activity, or to get more people involved in setting ip local groups, please do contact me...either by a pm, on here or by email to admin@uklp.org.uk.

Bets wishes...
